Urban Bird Fest 2023
Join us for our first ever Urban Bird Fest at Old Takoma Ace on Saturday May 20 from 10-1!
Learn about local birds and what you can do to support them while enjoying fun family friendly activities.
Tabling Vendors include:
- DC Audubon Society - local birding info and how to support birds in Takoma Park
- Kaytee Bird Seed & Feeders - attracting local birds
- Owl Moon Raptor Center - meet their rescued barred owl and learn about local raptors and how we can support and protect them.
- Tidal Creek Growers - native plants for pollinators and attracting birds
- Birdwatch Home Improvement
On site activities include:
- Paint your own birdhouse or bird feeder station (customers buy wooden house, we provide supplies)
- Make your own bird mask craft station (paper mask, crayons/coloring/glitter with string)
- DIY bird feeders!
Deals during the event include:
- Mix and Match: Buy one C&S or Kaytee bird seed product, get one 50% off!
- 20% off all in stock bird feeders!
- Free suet samples from C&S, while supplies last!
- Kaytee Bird Seed raffle prize includes several seed varieties, some suet cakes, and a feeder!
While we welcome pets at our store, we ask that you leave them at home for this event or maintain a reasonable distance from the birds on site. This will help our winged friends feel more comfortable and safer while we enjoy learning about their habits and habitat.
